Although classified as an extreme vehicle, driving a Personal Watercraft (PWC) or jetski is not so difficult. Beginners can also ride a jetski after receiving instructions from the Road Captain and practice for only 5-10 minutes. However, there are a few things to consider when using a jet ski, especially when traveling with a group. What should be considered and done when driving using a jetski?

1. Using a life jacket or Personal Floating Device (PFD)

Trippers are required to wear a life jacket with certain specifications when riding a jetski for safety reasons. Don't forget to also attach the PWC key to the life jacket while driving, so that when Trippers bounce off the top of the jetski, the jetski engine will automatically turn off because the key is released.

2. Keep your distance

As an extreme vehicle that has a high-speed engine, Trippers are required to maintain a minimum distance of 30 meters from other drivers.

3. Maintain shared responsibility and safety

Obey the rules, respect other drivers and protect nature and the environment.

4. It is forbidden to precede

This is the most basic rule when driving at sea, namely: It is strictly forbidden to overtake the road captain (Road Captain). As people who are unfamiliar with water and ocean terrain, it is important for Trippers to follow the Road Captain's directions to avoid unwanted events, such as going wrong paths, being hit by corals, or entering areas that are not recommended to be crossed (coastal areas where many people swim). , military areas, and so on).

5. Do not force the machine when the problem

When the engine makes a strange noise and feels heavy when driving, it is better to stop. Stop the engine and mark the guide.

6. Make sure the body is in good health

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a violation.

7. Drive slowly

Reduce speed to 8-10km/h when 100 meters near the beach, boat, harbor or other motorists.

8. Use the right path

When dealing (head to head) with a boat or other PWC, make sure the path chosen is safe and correct.

9. Make sure the vision is visible

Ensure that near and far vision is clearly visible and use visual aids if needed.

10. Taking care of personal belongings

11. Use hand signs to communicate with other drivers

Lastly, to make it easier to communicate with other riders while at sea, Trippers are required to use 8 (eight) hand signs that have been taught by the Road Captain during the briefing.
